GARDENING AUSTRALIA HIGHLIGHTS

Bickleigh Vale
John Patrick visits Bickleigh Vale, a village which was designed and built by Edna Walling from the 1930's to the 1950's. Walling is one of Australia's premier garden designers of the 20th century and Bickleigh Vale is a testament to her genius.

Tree Removal
Angus Stewart watches a team of arborists as they remove a gigantic, dead lemon scented gum tree from a suburban Sydney backyard, to see how it's done.

Spring Blossom
Jane Edmanson celebrates spring by looking at a range of blossoms, including prunus, pyrus and malus - small, spectacular trees profuse in tiny flowers - which are ideal for any garden.

Jingili Community Garden
Leonie Norrington visits the Jingili Community Garden in Darwin, where gardeners from the local area grow vegies on strict organic principles.

The passing of Kevin Heinze is very sad news for the whole of the gardening world.  Kevin was one of the pioneers of gardening on radio and television, through programs such as 'Sow What', and a mentor to others such as Jane Edmanson.

As well as being a knowledgeable and skilled gardener, Kevin was a kind, gentle, and modest man whose contribution to horticulture will not be forgotten.  Our thoughts are with his family.

As a tribute to Kevin, Gardening Australia has posted the story that Jane Edmanson did with Kevin only a few years ago in his own garden at abc.net.au/gardening.
