| GARDENING AUSTRALIA AT THE HMAA AWARDS The Horticultural Media Association Australia Awards were held on Thursday 29 October and Gardening Australia was happy to be presented with the following awards: - Best story in the General category: A Singular Obsession (Jane Edmanson) about a man who's collected thousands of cactus and succulents. Produced by Neil Proud.
- Best episode in the Technical category: Episode 22 - Hellebores by Jane; Homemade Remedies by Colin; Starch Staples by Jerry; Rose Pruning by Sophie; Shasta Daisy Propagation by Angus.
- Josh Byrne was the winner in the Environmental category for his 'Creating a School Garden' series.
- Gardening Australia Researcher, Millie Ross, won the Anita Boucher Young Achiever of the Year Award.
- Colin Campbell was inducted into the HMA Hall of Fame (Gold Laurel) for his lifelong service to horticulture!

| VITIS The type genus for the grape (Vitaceae) family, Vitis is composed of more than 60 species of woody deciduous vines from the temperate Northern Hemisphere. The grape is one of the longest cultivated plants, and is mentioned in history throughout the ages. Grape varieties differ most obviously in fruit color: white, red, or black. Some are table grapes, others wine grapes, and a few are dual purpose.
