Gardening Australia - Gardener of the Year

Gardening Australia - Gardener of the Year

CALLING ALL PASSIONATE GARDENERS!
The Gardener of the Year competition is here again and this year there are two new categories!

The search is on for Australia's best gardeners. Due to the overwhelming response and calibre of entries in recent years, we've decided to introduce Young Gardener of the Year and Community Garden of the Year categories to the competition.

Our panel of expert judges will select two finalists for each category from the entries received, then ask you to help us choose the three winners.

For now, though, we need your nominations. If you think you or someone you know is worthy of a golden spade, we'd love to hear from you! Fill in the entry form and let us know how much you love to garden.

Gardener of the Year

The Gardener of the Year is awarded to someone who's passionate about gardening and continues to set the benchmark in gardening practice. Nominated gardens are judged on design, plant choice, sustainable features and maintenance.

Young Gardener of the Year

New to the competition this year, the Young Gardener of the Year category is open to passionate gardeners under 21 years of age who illustrate continued passion and enthusiasm for gardening. They will show a fundamental understanding of growing plants, garden design, sustainability, plant choice or how to create habitat within their garden.

Community Garden of the Year

Our other new category, Community Garden of the Year, is for an exemplary garden that's made, and continues to make, a difference to the lives of others. Whether it's for children, seniors, hospital patients and staff, or just the means of bringing people in the neighbourhood together, the winning entry will be a garden that has a resounding positive impact on the lives of people around and within it.

Further information and entry forms are available in the Gardening Australia Magazine or download here.
