BIG IDEAS FOR A TINY SPACE
Is it possible to have a lush, beautiful garden in just 20 square metres? One that dodges a network of underground pipes, lead-contaminated soil and a retractable clothesline? Yes! Here are two garden plans, complete with plant lists, from up-and-coming designers.

THE PERENNIAL BORDER
Michael McCoy is a master of the herbaceous perennial border, and offers his expertise in unravelling what the principles are, how to choose your plants, and design techniques to create the textured, layered complexity that makes the perennial border shine.

WHAT TO DO WHEN IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE
Even the professionals can find their garden has morphed into something they don't really like or which no longer meets their needs. This tale of starting over again has lessons for us all.

CLIMBING THE WALLS
Famous for his greenwalls and rooftop gardens, Mark Paul has an inspiring, low-maintenance garden at home, where bromeliads, ferns, orchids, ornamental grasses and native plants come together in all sorts of delicious ways. Even the chook house has a garden on the roof!

BEST SPEARS OF YOUR LIFE
Asparagus is the vegie that keeps on giving, sometimes for decades. Preparation of the bed is crucial, and Tino Carnevale has all the tips and tricks you need for a great annual harvest.

DIVIDE AND MULTIPLY
Now is the time to take hardwood cuttings of deciduous trees and vines, and to divide fleshy perennials, such as asparagus and rhubarb. Josh Byrne shows how simple it is.
