Remove loose items and put them away in sheds. Have an arborist prune trees near powerlines.  Subtropical Climate Zone Prune roses - cut them back to a strong growing point, removing about a third of the growth.  Feed and mulch roses and give them a deep water and they'll re-flower again with gusto.  Trim and feed purple wreath vine.  Arid Climate Zone Soak pot plants. Give them a thorough drink by submerging the entire pot in a bucket of water. This helps to rewet the soil if it’s become hydrophobic. Plant spring onions, leeks, lettuces and zucchini. For a native version of spinach, sow Warrigal greens in a semi-shaded area.  Temperate Climate Zone Prune wisteria. Cut the whippy shoots back by 90%, which still leaves new-season buds to produce next spring’s flowers. Treat fruit fly-affected plants. Remove affected fruit then either bury it deep in the ground or place in a hot compost. Make sure your worm farm is cool and moist.  Cool Climate Zone   Liquid-feed your Chinese vegies with liquid fertiliser to celebrate the Chinese New Year! Homemade compost tea or worm wee are great natural resources to use, especially on leafy greens.  Dead-head roses (remove spent flowers).
